About Me

I am a painter focused on capturing the vitality of the landscape. My work aims to capture the changing rhythms and the immediacy of nature.

My work is poised between observation and emotion. My approach is to begin with figurative plein air sketches which develop in the studio into more lyrical works. Working both outside and inside allows me to playfully balance the figurative and abstract.

Authentically depicting a specific location and moment in time is central to my work. I work intuitively selecting each gestural mark from the line of the landscape to the light falling upon it.
